In order to promote academic and athletic achievement, The Ohio Tennis Coaches’ Association has awarded the GOLD RACQUET AWARD to Arwin Sayoto of Elida. In order to qualify for the GOLD RACQUET, the student-athlete must be a senior who has earned two varsity letters in tennis and who has maintained at least a 3.75 GPA for six semesters.

Comments are closed 2010-11, College Signings/Verbals, Elida Bulldogs, News, Tennis Girls, WBL 2010-11 College Signings The 12th annual Van Wert County Hospital All Star Football Game hosted by the Van Wert Booster Club will be held Friday June 10th, at Eggress Stadium in Van Wert, Ohio. The gates will open at 6:30 with player introductions taking place at 7:15. The game will kick off at 7:30pm. Thirty three players from the Western Buckeye League will compete against a combined squad of thirty three players from the Midwest Athletic Conference & Northwest Conference. This is a fundraiser for the Booster Club. Come out and enjoy some football.

On June 2, 2011, Ottawa-Glandorf announced that Josh Leslie had resigned as head boys basketball coach immediately due to personal reasons. He had led the Titans for 6 seasons. Coach Leslie lead Titan teams to 1 State Title (2008), 2 Regional appearances and 6 straight District appearances. He leaves with a record of 109 wins and 35 losses. Ottawa-Glandorf Schools will follow local posting procedures for applying and filling of the open position.
Elida’s Mitch Chavez signed a letter-of-intent to play tennis at NAIA University of Northwestern Ohio.
Ohio Tennis Coaches Association State Team Tournament at Hilliard Davidson High School
The Western Buckeye League would like to announce that the Bulldogs of Celina High School have won the 2010-11 All Sports Trophy, edging out Shawnee High School by one point. The award is based on where each league school finishes in all recognized WBL sports. The Western Buckeye League currently awards 18 championships in 12 different sports. This will be Celina’s 14th all sports trophy and their 6th in the last 10 years.
Celina’s Nate Bihn will continue his education and play basketball for NCAA Division III Bluffton University in Bluffton, Ohio.
St. Marys’ grad Trevor Kill who graduated in 2009 committed to play baseball at NCAA Division I Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Kill played 2 years at Butler Community College.
